MySpace now has a books section. Which has as its primary functionality, a top books list that directs you to Amazon.
This is basically the same functionality as Technorati Popular Books, just that one is based only on MySpace links, the other on any blog link.
In neither case is there any way to link to a library, nor any mention of libraries whatsoever.
MySpace has a bit more functionality in that it also links to discussion groups and featured books.
Featured books, I'm guessing, is probably paid book advertisements.
You get a little mini-review, you can rate the book and leave comments, and you can also link to the book's profile (in MySpace terms, any item of interest has a profile that you can be a "friend" with, so the way to express interest in a book would be to add its profile to your friends list).
For example, there is a featured book page for Hairstyles of the Damned (use this link if not logged in), which then leads to the MySpace profile http://www.myspace.com/hairstylesofthedamned
Should your library's MySpace link to the profiles for all new book acquisitions?
Can libraries find a way to tie themselves into these book systems?
