I think Steven Cohen was probably a bit distressed when I reported on his beta Librarian List.
He has announced that it is now released along with a few other PubSub Community Lists.

Given human nature, we will now all go and see our position on the list :)
I am currently tied with a few others at #46.
Considering that this SLP blog is only a year old, I'm pleased. Really the big challenge in a community is reaching a large enough critical mass of readers that your ideas get out there and are discussed. There is I think a big "early-mover advantage" in blogs - it will become increasingly difficult for new voices to be heard, simply because most of us only have so much attention we can spare for our aggregators.
There have been many different communities I have participated in during my past 15 years or so online. The earliest USENET posting of mine I was able to find in Google Groups was from October 15, 1990, about my Amiga 2000. As I've moved into this new space of library technology discussions online, I've been fortunate to connect with a lively community.
Me? Distressed? Never. ;-)
Just a clarification. The lists were never in beta. We're not a big believer in launching beta services. What does Beta mean nowadays anyway.
Thanks for mentioning the lists.
