trackbacks off

Just some meta-site news: due to ongoing trackback spamming, this feature is now disabled on new posts.

I would disable it on all old posts too, except TypePad doesn't provide any means to do so.

I can't see turning trackbacks back on until they revise the protocol - any completely open, barrierless linking technology is going to get spammed.  One obvious approach to fix trackback would be to have the target host send a challenge - whether it be a CAPTCHA or whatever, back to the source host.
