I must say, I am totally shocked by the number of photos that are already geocoded in Flickr.
There's a Korean restaurant that just opened a week or so ago, a couple blocks from me - there's already a photo of the food someone ate there, conveniently geocoded. That's freaky.
Anyway, if you're gearing up for ECDL 2006, you can pre-visit Alicante through Flickr geocoded photos, see
There are 65 photos coded there as I type this. It looks quite beautiful.
UPDATE 2006-09-02: There is also a good set of Lucentum photos (the Roman ruins near Alicante).
And there are now 285 photos in the area - the incredible pace of geocoding continues at Flickr.
ENDUPDATE
In case you're wondering, yes I will be bringing ridiculous amount of electronics, including GPS gear, with the hope of auto-geocoding all the pictures I take.
UPDATE 2006-09-19: See my category ECDL2006 for more blogging on this topic, and see my Flickr images at http://www.flickr.com/photos/rakerman/tags/ecdl2006/
