In case you're wondering if web contests are for real, the Seagate blog one was.
Although one might take issue with the delays in getting the winners posted, I certainly don't take issue with my shiny, blue-glowing disc of a prize

(The centre glows blue when the hard drive is accessed.)

It fits in the palm of my hand and can easily be carried in a pocket.  (I suppose for true Canadian content I should say "about the size and shape of a hockey puck with rounded edges".)  It beats my current portable storage solution (a 1GB USB key) by a factor of 8.  So I'm very pleased.  It's actually a better prize for me than the 2nd prize would have been.
