It's great to finally see a cellphone company recognize that it makes sense to integrate the GPS and camera features within their phones.
Today, we proudly announce a new application for Nokia Beta Labs, Nokia Location Tagger. What is it all about? Nokia Location Tagger is a small application running on “selected” S60 3rd devices that allows you to tag pictures captured from Camera application with geographical coordinates from GPS. The tagging process itself is sometimes called geotagging or geocoding (see also this article at Wikipedia). Technically, the location information is stored in the EXIF header of your pictures (.jpg file).

The Location Tagger page has even better news
In the near future, we hope to make location tagging a seamlessly integrated part of your Nokia experience. Until then, Nokia Location Tagger is a small standalone application that gives you a sneak preview.
Hopefully this will wake up Sony Ericsson and other providers who have yet to properly integrate their cellphone cameras, camera software, and GPS capabilities.

Hey.. saw your post on picture geotagging. Was wondering if you ever ever exchanging data between garmin map points with nokia maps.. or between google maps and nokia maps. It's easier to mark locations with garmin map browser and google maps..
