Have you looked into OpenDNS (http://www.opendns.com/)? It offers a well-engineered alternative DNS server.


They just applied it to iPhones today.


Primus has been doing this as well. They intercept all DNS requests, so that typos will result in a search page instead of a 404 error.

If you call them and ask for a DNS service that is 'unfiltered', they will set you up. I'll post back if I have problems.
