Richard Akerman
This is my technology blog, Richard's Tech Reviews.
I have always been interested in technology, right from the early days of LED and LCD electronic games, Intellivision, Apple II, Commodore PET, VIC-20... With the demise of the Amiga, I now use Windows, Mac, and various operating systems on the Raspberry Pi. Whenever possible I will test on both Windows and Mac platforms.
My background is in computer science, specifically software engineering. I have experience working as a sysadmin and a network admin, as well as being a software designer.
I have a principle of "if I'm going to research this for myself, I might as well share the results" and the Internet makes that easy.
Unless otherwise indicated, all the equipment was purchased by me through regular retail channels.
My other blogs:
- Science Library Pad, about the future of academic and research libraries, from a technology planning perspective
- Paper Vote Canada 2, about the risks of electronic voting systems
Please note: I will often link to Amazon.com for additional information (and to provide you the ability to purchase), but be aware that Amazon.com does not ship electronics outside of the USA.
